Ogre, a fourteen year old orphan, is a servant in the household of the King Nigel and his daughter, Princess Caroline. King Nigel led a rebellion to claim the throne years ago, but has become the very tyrant he overthrew. Banished from the only home he has ever known for running in the castle, Ogre is apprenticed to the Hunt Master and soon finds himself in the wilderness helping the King hunt a real ogre. Captured by the foul beast, Ogre must reassess what honor and courage mean. Princess Caroline, meanwhile, plots to overthrow her father and restore justice to her nation. Unlikely allies, Ogre and the Princess must save the nation from civil war and save themselves from the hangman.

The Ogre Prince eBook Jefferson R BlackburnSmith

The author weaves a fine tale of a young orphan growing up and discovering that his world is far more complex than he had imagined. From his life as a servant within the castle walls, he has no where to go but up. While the protagonist has ample opportunities to just give up, instead he consciously makes positive choices and focuses on self-improvement. Along the way he meets several characters who help him in his journey to adulthood and a future he never would have dreamed of.
This story is fairly light and quick reading. A few parts may be a little confusing for younger readers, but they will likely find it enjoyable. For more experienced readers the plot may be somewhat predictable, but nevertheless it's still a fun read with a surprise or two thrown in for good measure.
Looking forward to reading other works by this author.

The Ogre Prince eBook Jefferson R BlackburnSmith Reviews

Contrary to popular opinion, Mr. Blackburn-Smith isn't just another good-looking writer getting by on brainy sex appeal; The Ogre Prince is an oustanding new entry in the fantasy genre. Highly recommended.
A great adventure and story of hope and courage. The first e-book I've attempted to read and couldn't put it down.
